The Colombia Support Network calls upon the Pastrana Administration to take all necessary measures to end threats against the Peace Communities of San Jose de Apartado, San Francisco de Asis, and the Cacarica Valley refugee community. The military and police should fulfill their constitutional role of protecting the lives of citizens, such as the residents of these communities, from all threatening forces.

We call upon the military and police commanders to end collaboration with the paramilitaries and to defuse and prevent armed attacks against the threatened communities.

We also urge the Colombian government to provide the economic resources that it is legally required to supply to refugees in the mentioned communities and elsewhere throughout Colombia.
