AMERICAN MILITARY INTERVENTION
IS BREWING IN COLOMBIA

In the eve of diverse versions over a possible intervention of American 
Armed Forces in Colombia, to combat  guerrillas in the mountains, the chief 
of the Southern Command of the United States, General Charles E. Wilhem, 
arrived in Bogota.

General Wilhem will spend the next two days in conference with Colombia's 
minister of Defence, Gilberto Echeverri and Police Director, general Rosso 
Jose Serrano.

General Wilhem is expected to visit Caguan, where in recent days the 
Colombian Army suffered heavy casualties in the hands of the guerrillas 
operating in the area.
